We have accepted a project from "Aizome Washi" to create ponchos using indigo-dyed washi paper. Our workshop is cooperating in supplying the raw material kozo and in the production of custom-made washi paper measuring 1.4m x 2.0m. The kozo that has been thoroughly indigo-dyed does not lose any color during the papermaking process and retains its vibrant hue. It is dyed in an astonishingly uniform and deep blue, yet the texture of the washi remains intact, feeling no different from regular paper.
